Just few days back there were tabloid reports about BipashaBasu’s first Hollywood project starring Titanic villain Billy Zane, going on floors. But now news has trickled in that the project is being scrapped. It was to begin shooting tomorrow on Saturday July 25th. It is learnt that Smita Thackeray who was to produce this film has now backed out with reasons being cited as personal and professional. This yet untitled film was to be directed by David Silverman and was to feature Bipasha in Angelina Jolie’s Lara Croft avatar.

This romantic thriller was going to be shot in Kodaikanal and had actor Rajvirr of Kaise Kahen (2007) fame playing Bipasha’s second love interest. The filmwas to have Bipasha doing some intense love making scenes with both Billy and Rajvirr. Rumor mills suggest- the Rajvirr’s choice as the male lead wasn’t being appreciated and Smita Thackeray was adamant about him playing the role. However now that Smita has backed out from the film, it only means that for now Bipasha’s dream of going international has come to a standstill, at least for now. Though for a long time now both Bipasha and her boyfriend John Abraham have been trying to go international but the plans are simply not working out.

Bipasha Basu is back from Hyderabad and in the city for the next few days. After a whirlwind shoot of All the Best in Goa and Hyderabad, the sultry actress is taking time out for her younger sister, Rinnie. Younger to her by several years, Bips took on the responsibility of looking after Rinnie. Rinnie, who studied in Mumbai and often accompanied her sister on shoots, is now planning on studying in the United Kingdom. Bipasha says, “When I went abroad for my modeling assignment with the Ford supermodel agency, I was not prepared to live on my own. So I am planning all the little details so that my sister will not be inconvenienced living so far away from home. From making a list of things that she will be needing for her kitchen, her bedroom and bathroom to all the other requisites, the two of us are sitting together.” Rinnie will be leaving in September, but Bipasha known for her planning, is already making sure that all the things are in place for her sister’s comfortable stay in the UK.

Angelina Jolie’s `desi` counterpart Bipasha Basu is all set to scorch the screen and tantalize the cine-goers provocatively in his new film, which is said to be inspired by ‘Tomb Raider’. And she also has an international co-star for company – Billy Zane of ‘Titanic’ fame. Not only Bips has a challenging role, she is fortunate to be directed by the famous animator David Silverman in the film. Produced by Smita Thackeray, the romantic thriller will go on floors on July 25. The film also features Rajvirr as the second lead in the film. A source revealed to a news daily, “At the moment, they are doing photo shoots with Bipasha and Rajvirr. Bipasha`s role is along the lines of Angelina Jolie`s ‘Tomb Raider’. Her character is immensely sexy at the same time very mature and intense.”

The film will be shot entirely in Kodaikanal. Billy Zane seen as the villain in Titanic and later in the ‘Mummy’ series had a meeting with Thackeray. He will soon be arriving in India for the film. “There were reports that Bipasha and Billy were to do a film a few months back but now that Smita Thackeray has locked in both the actors, she plans to make an official announcement of the film,” a source added. The film, which is a love triangle, is touted to have explicit love scenes and lot of red-hot masala. Let’s see whether `desi` Bips can beat Jolie’s sexy act!

Bollywood hottie Bipasha Basu and her co-actress Mugdha Godse, who are part of the upcoming Rohit Shetty film ALL THE BEST, seem to have developed a new hatred for each other.The two actors reportedly hate each other. The sour chemistry between the two had become a much talked about affair on the film sets. All this happened because both the ladies wanted to get more attention in the film than the other.

The story goes that Bips miffed Mugdha when she told her she can’t dance. This infuriated the actress and she refused to acknowledge Bips’ starry airs. Though the two finally completed the scenes together, but it was no less than a nightmare for the makers. Well, looks like this catfight is going to welcome news for the rumor mills in B-Town.

This is one meeting that has left Shaurya Chauhaan high and giggling. This beautiful and hot Kingfisher calendar girl had the opportunity to meet the renowned Bengali director Tapan Saha. She had gone to Calcutta for the shoot of an ad campaign and there she met him. So impressed was he with her personality and her emoting skill that he has offered her the second lead in his forthcoming Hollywood project with Bipasha Basu and Billy Zane. “I am so excited. It’s the best opportunity that I could have got. We had met and he found me perfect for this character. He told me that he is considering me seriously and we have our second meeting planned now,” comments Shaurya.

Shaurya is doing a film with Sarfarosh fame director John Matthew, starring Himesh Reshamiya. She is also dong a dance with Arjun Rampal in Deepak Tijori’s next film Fox. She is under a 3 film contract with Zoom and her Park Avenue with Amir Basir and Rohit Roy’s Rotary is on the floor. Apart from the movie Mumbai Salsa you have seen Shaurya Chauhaan in many commercials like L’Oreal, Hide n Seek, Hero Honda and Ford Fiesta with Abhishek Bachchan.

Bipasha Basu was highly impressed by Fardeen Khan while working with him in Ajay Devgan’s home production ‘All The Best’. Though the movie has many stars, it was Fardeen who made the maximum impression on Bips. Bipasha tells a tabloid: “Fardeen is a very philosophical person, very well-read, intelligent, well-behaved and chivalrous. I found him a most impressive talker.”

The two bonded well during the making of ‘All The Best’ in Goa and Hyderabad. In fact, when Fardeen came to know of Bipasha’s plan to learn belly dancing, he got excited and offered to sponsor her dancing classes. Bipasha, in return, promised to show Fardeen and Ajay her belly dancing moves once she learns it. However, she hasn’t even begun yet.

Shooting for ‘All The Best’ was a welcome change for Bipasha after playing a serious role in Rahul Dholakia’s ‘Lamhaa’, which has got stuck on the floors because of some ego tussle between Dholakia and producer Bunty Walia. A month-long shoot of ‘All The Best’ in Goa followed by a short schedule in Hyderabad has re-energized Bipasha.

Bipasha Basu has been working at a frenetic pace all year. Speaking to source, the actress declares, “I will not have it anyway else. I love working and working gives me a high. And this year I have a mixed bag of goodies for my fans.” Bipasha has four releases scheduled for the year. She has just finished shooting for Ajay Devgan’s home production called All The Best – Fun Unlimited, which is directed by Rohit Shetty.

Bipasha says, “We shot for that film in Goa, in one long schedule. It is a great film with lots of fun and comedy. That is my entertainer for the year. In contrast to that I have a film with Sanjay Gupta’s White Feather Films called Pankh. The film is of a new genre and it is something that I have experimented with. I play an imaginary character.” Bipasha is at the peak of her career and she is not shying away from experimenting with different types of films.

To stick to her roots, she has also shot for her first Bengali film, Sabcharitro Kalponik, where she essays the role of a bored housewife. Laughing about playing that role, she says, “I really had to act for that role. Playing the character of a bored housewife is something that I really had to work hard at, as I don’t know many such people. But it was great to act in a Bengali film.” However, Bipasha’s next release should be Rahul Dholakia’s hard hitting film, Lamhaa. Says Bipasha, “This is a film on reality and we had to shoot in real locations amidst a lot of security as it is based on the Kashmir issue. But I am glad I did this film and I believe it should get me some critical acclaim.”
